In a newly released ranking of high schools across the nation compiled by U.S. News and World Report, Broughton is the third highest ranked High School in the State! Please see the rankings for North Carolina Best High Schools in North Carolina, U.S. News and World Report. They analyzed 21,776 public high schools in 49 states and the District of Columbia.

With over 130 course offerings taught by experienced, knowledgeable, engaging teachers, Broughton has fantastic resources to meet the academic needs of students with diverse interests, backgrounds, and goals.
Broughton is a member of the NC High School Athletic Association. Membership in team sports is highly competitive and requires ability and skill.
Our IB Diploma Programme develops internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.
Students at Broughton have an array of activities and opportunities to choose from to get involved. Students can participate in the performing and visual arts, athletics, student government, and service projects.
About Broughton High School
Located in the heart of Raleigh and near North Carolina State University, Broughton is one of the oldest of 28 high schools in Wake County. In 1929 Broughton began a tradition of excellence which continues today. Highlighting its motto, "Approve Ye That Which Is Excellent," Broughton High School serves a diverse population of over 2,100 young people with an emphasis on academic excellence and community involvement.
