WCAP is Broughton High School's student-run video production facility. A live newscast is sent through the school each morning at 9:35am.

Congratulations to former WCAP Anchor Colin Fickes, who was featured in a speaking role in 2007's summer blockbuster TRANSFORMERS. His fellow classmate and former WCAP anchor Aubrey Dollar is also appearing in the new TV show WOMEN'S MURDER CLUB.

Rob Collis was awarded this year's 2008 WCAP Producer of the Year award at Broughton's annual Awards Assembly. Pictured here are the "Producers of the Year" for the last 3 years - Max King (06), Laura Escobar (07), and Collis (08). Burcu Bozkurt won 2008 Anchor of the Year.

IB Film's Ripple

The Memory Project: A Ripple in Guatemala
Produced by 2 IB Film students, this 35 minute documentary follows art students taking part in a community service project by delivering painted portraits to children in Guatemala.

Win! Win! Win!

Senior Max King recently took 3rd place with his short film TOGETHER at the MIST festival in Atlanta, GA. Diversity was the theme of the film, shown at this Muslim student organization's meeting. King was also accepted to the prestigious film program at North Carolina School of the Arts. King also recently took 3rd place at the state level of the PTSA Reflections contest. His commercial spot, "Be Dedic(AID)ed," aired during AIDS Awareness Week last fall. Max was honored at a county presentation at Millbrook High School on March 18th. He'll also be recognized at the state-level ceremony in Greensboro later this spring. View it here!
