How have funds given to the Foundation been used?
Since the 2005-06 academic year the Foundation has funded 34 proposals, totaling $68,000.
Grants awarded included: funding for a school wide license for Web Assign, an assessment system used in mathematics and science classes; funding for the Writer-in-Residence program for college-bound seniors; funding to assist the band with participation in the 2008 Rose Bowl parade in Pasadena, California; funding for faculty members to attend conferences and workshops; and funding to purchase additional equipment and materials to enhance the instructional program at Broughton.
In addition to grants funded through the grant proposal process, the Foundation has funded a number of projects for which the Foundation received designated donations. These designated donations included funding for several campus beautification projects including landscaping and improvements to the front terrace and courtyards; and funding for a number of students and teachers to participate in Proyecto Quetzal, a school sponsored program held in Antiqua, Guatemala.
