Enrolling

These are the steps for enrolling a new student.
  1. Confirm that you live in the Broughton attendance area.
  2. Telephone the Broughton Student Services Office (856-7830) to schedule an appointment.
  3. Bring these items with you:
    1. Proof of Residence
    2. Report card with most recent grades.
    3. Copy of transcript showing all credits earned in high school. THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT FOR JUNIORS AND SENIORS. If your former school won't give you an official transcript, ask them for an unofficial transcript. Another possibility is to have the information sent to Broughton's Guidance Department by fax machine. (919-856-7822).
    4. Any other documents considered helpful.
    5. Social security number.
    6. Immunization Information.
    7. Birth certificate (or copy) if you are from another state.
    8. Withdrawal Form from previous school if you are enrolling during the school year.
  4. Both the parent and the student need to come for the registration. If the student is living with someone other than the parent of if the family is living with someone else (such as other family or friends), arrangements must be made with the Wake County Public School System at the Student Assignment Office on Wake Forest Road (map) (850-1921). This cannot be done by telephone; you must go to the office and they will see you on a first come first served basis. This must be done before the student can be enrolled in any Wake County high school.
