Broughton AP Web site

Welcome to Broughton.AP, your number-one resource for AP classes at Broughton High School. On this website, you can find assignments from your AP classes, connect with a tutor, and generally keep up with all things AP. This site is managed by students, for students. Each page is maintained by someone from that class. Anyone in a class whose page does not yet have a maintainer and/or who would like to help with the site and can commit to keeping up a page, please contact us.

College Board gives the dates/times for all of the AP Exams - we do not offer all of the courses - so we will offer the exams for the courses offered here at Broughton.  More information can be accessed regarding AP from:

Important Information for BHS Students Taking 2009 AP Exams

Students taking AM exams should be back on campus for the entire 4th period, if not before.  Students taking PM exams should leave 2nd period to allow enough time to eat lunch and arrive at the testing location by 11:45 am.  Some students may be testing all day – beyond the school day. Important reminders for students:

  • NO CELL PHONES or electronic devices will be allowed in the buildings.  They need to be left at home or in cars.  If you need to call your ride the test administrators will have a phone.
  • Be on time.  No one will be admitted to the testing room once the testing has begun.
  • AM exams – arrive at 7:30 am
  • PM exams – arrive at 11:45 am (if the previous exam is not finished – please wait outside patiently!)
  • There will be a clock in each testing room – if you have a watch it must not beep or alarm.
  • ALL seating will be assigned by the administrator for each exam.
  • NO CELL PHONES or electronic devices in the building at all – period.
  • Bring sharpened #2 pencils, pens with dark blue or black ink, a candidate pack, once one has been assigned to you, Broughton’s school code – 343225, and if taking an exam which requires a calculator, bring the approved calculator and make sure it has fresh batteries.
  • Do not bring: books, scratch paper, any other school materials or electronics of any sort (including cell phones, ipods, etc...)
  • Note the location of each of your tests – so you can arrange transportation if necessary.  Leave early enough to allow enough time to get there safely, park and find the location.
  • Review the Bulletin for AP Students and Parents 2008-09 – for exam length add 45 minutes to an hour for completing general information before the exam begins.
  • Students are not allowed to bring food or drink into the testing room unless approved by College Board (i.e. for medical reasons)
  • Afternoon exams usually last until after 4:00 pm.  No one will be allowed to leave early.
Parking at Trinity Baptist:  4815 Six Forks Rd, Raleigh 27609To avoid a left turn across a heavily traveled section of Six Forks Road, we suggest driving directly into the back parking lot.  From BHS, take St. Mary’s St toward Glenwood Ave.  Cross Wade Ave. and Glenwood continuing on St. Mary’s St.  St. Mary’s will become Lassiter Mill Rd; Continue on Lassiter Mill and turn left on Pamlico; Turn right onto Northbrook; Turn left onto Terry and go to the end parking lot at the back of the church.Once in the back parking lot the Fellowship Hall is located to the far right; the Underground is located to the left of the Fellowship Hall – near the middle of the buildings. Parking at Highland United Methodist: 1901 Ridge Rd., Raleigh, NC 27607.At the corner of Lake Boone Trail and Ridge Road, the parking lot is off Ridge Road.Park in the church parking lot.  The Bradley Center will be to the left rear as you turn into the lot. Please do NOT call the churches if you have questions – they are only opening their space – and will not be able to answer any AP questions.  Call Broughton with questions – 856-7830. ONE LAST THING:  NO CELL PHONES OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES.  We mean it! If students choose not to take the exam and wish to request a $50 refund, the request must be made in writing (not email) to Ms. Raynor on or before Friday, May 15, 2009.

Students and Parents must review the 2009 AP Bulletin before taking exams

http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/about.html  AP teachers will have copies.
