Broughton High School currently offers, Spanish, Latin, German, and French in its World Language curriculum. There are quite a few benefits of Second Language Study:

  • Greater understanding of other people and cultures
  • Clearer insight into the structure of the English language, specifically structure, syntax and vocabulary
  • Higher scores on the verbal section of the SAT and other standardized tests
  • More flexibility in thinking processes through problem solving, conceptualizing and reasoning

About Broughton High School

Located in the heart of Raleigh and near North Carolina State University, Broughton is one of the oldest of 28 high schools in Wake County. In 1929 Broughton began a tradition of excellence which continues today. Highlighting its motto, "Approve Ye That Which Is Excellent,"  Broughton High School serves a diverse population of over 2,100 young people with an emphasis on academic excellence and community involvement.
