The Arts Education program provides curricular development in the areas of Dance, General Music, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Theatre Arts and Visual Arts. Arts education challenges each student to develop and maintain a dynamic awareness of the importance of the arts in the human experience.

Located in the heart of Raleigh and near North Carolina State University, Broughton is one of the oldest of 28 high schools in Wake County. In 1929 Broughton began a tradition of excellence which continues today. Highlighting its motto, "Approve Ye That Which Is Excellent," Broughton High School serves a diverse population of over 2,100 young people with an emphasis on academic excellence and community involvement.
