2012-2013 Broughton High School Parking Update 2 - June 22, 2012
All campus parking is by permit only. A total of approximately 150 parking spaces have been made available for student parking in the up-coming 2012 -2013 school year. Approximately 100 of the spaces have already been assigned through the first parking lottery, which was held at the end of May. Approximately 50 spaces remain available for student use. Interested rising seniors and juniors, who have completed 25 hours of community service for each completed year of attendance at Broughton High School, may sign up for entry into the second parking lottery in the main office beginning on August 27th and ending on September 6th.
Parking assignments will be made through lottery / random drawing, with the priority of assignments being given to rising seniors. Results for this second lottery will be posted by the main doors to the Main Office on September 7th. The cost for parking is set by WCPSS and we estimate that it will be close to the $170 annual fee charged last year. Freshmen and sophomores are not eligible for on campus parking.
Those students, who have already been selected and assigned parking spots via last May's lottery will receive a temporary parking tag through the mail this summer that will be good for use during the first week of the 2012 - 2013 school year. They will also receive a map showing the location of their assigned parking space. All student-parking is located in the front parking lot (the parking area adjacent to Peace Street). Permanent parking tags for these students will go on sale in the school cafeteria starting on August 28th and students must purchase their permanent tags by September 4th in order to retain their assigned parking space.
