Broughton students are connected from the local to the global community. With a tradition of mindful service as both an impetus for and an outgrowth of learning, Broughton students connect to the larger world through volunteer work at elementary schools, religious organizations, soup kitchens, non-profits, and other agencies. Broughton students even built an entire Habitat for Humanity home.
Students and faculty also make connections through diverse field trip opportunities. Recently, all world history classes traveled to Washington, DC to visit the Holocaust Museum and tour Congress. Each year, Broughton students and faculty also journey abroad, with recent trips across Europe, Australia, and Latin America. The World Languages Department offers particularly enriching exchange opportunities in Germany, Spain, and France. We also welcome students from across the world into our community, some of whom move to Raleigh permanently and others who come specifically to Broughton for one year through student exchange programs. All of these opportunities provide Broughton students and faculty with a deeper appreciation for diverse histories, cultures, languages, and politics.
